Happy Hawaiian Holidays!
So lucky we live in Hawaii! Water temperature is warm year round, as the Sun gently soothes the soul. Mauna Kea just got a snow storm, which cools the night temperatures at our South Kona Fruit Stand down to a brisk 62 degrees. Perfect sleeping weather with a down comforter! 🙂
The “Bumpy Kaffir Lime”
Winter time is citrus season on the Big Island, Hawaii. This “bumpy skinned” kaffir lime is mostly used for zest. When I ask people to scratch and smell it, they are taken aback by it’s sweet, but powerful aroma. There has been a vodka made with this unique smelling, and tasting lime. Citrus peels are said to be good at fighting skin cancer.
